Itoro’s thighs burned as he climbed the heavy wooden stairs up to the top of the otters’ waterslide. It was huge. Terrifying. Delightful.
Shifters weren’t supposed to be afraid. Itoro always was. No one scolded him for it but it still bothered Itoro that he couldn’t overcome his past.
It didn’t bother Nik, otter shifter and engineer of waterslides of awesomeness. Nik just gave Itoro the time he needed to deal with his fear.
And the support he needed to take a chance.
